History of Bachanelle(The name of the world this story takes place):
There are all kinds of beliefs about how this world was created and who/ what did it that are far-fetched or messed up or maybe too scientific and real but all of them have one thing in common: Bachanelle was created by the Garbenger. Nobody knows what the Garbenger is or how it works but what they do know is that there is one person who can control it and that is The Keeper.
The Keeper:
The Keeper is the term used for the reincarnation of the original Keeper who used the power of the Garbenger for himself and almost destroyed the world. Since then, some people thought the Garbenger was too much power for one person and stood up to defend against the Keeper. These People are called The Gillidians.
The Keeper is always a skilled warrior, chosen by the Garbenger itself. Each cycle the Keeper hunts for the three ancient relics called the Peliost - The Shrouded, the Kemopolist- The Illuminated and the Tempoest- The Bridge. When all three are found they reveal the Garbenger and can be fused to grant the Keeper his power. The job of the Gillidians is to prevent the Keeper from finding the relics but not once have the Gillidians been successful.
The 300 Year War:
Originally called the Eternal War, it was dubbed so because it seemed it lasted forever. Eventually the Keepers stopped appearing thus the Gillidians also disappeared. Those who considered themselves brave, having decided to follow either the Keeper or the Gillidians in the past, decided to step up on their own and lead anyone who would follow. This trend continued until groups grew large enough to become guilds. The guilds, growing and always looking to expand, eventually clashed and the world became ravaged by constant war. This war lasted until, finally, a new Keeper was chosen.
Recent History:
One day, near the end of the 300 Year War, a baby was born. Nobody, at the time, even suspected he could be the Keeper, especially since he wasn't the first-born. His name was Aerius and when he and his older brother by only a few years, Beirut, were still young their parents died, forcing them to fend for themselves. After wandering the streets and living through dark and challenging situations, they became skilled fighters and joined a guild. This guild was called The Compost.
In the midst of the 300 years war, a guild grew and stood up for all the people of the world. The Compost existed to help and nothing more. Beirut and Aerius were both eventually accepted but took two different paths.
Beirut, who struck an immediate interest in the Guildmaster, Moira, quickly worked his way up the ranks and became a counselor for the guild.
Aerius, who was arguably a better warrior, stayed below the ranks, always getting great jobs but never being allowed to rise in the ranks and learn more about the guild. Moira had a bad feeling about him and eventually, Aerius met a man named Semian who was the leader of a less organized but more open guild who had worked with the Compost in the past. He joined them. They called themselves the Heroes Guild, though some of the members were far from heroes, doing any job that found its way to their board. There he found out about the history of the Keepers and the Gillidians.
The Compost, was secretly composed of the Gillidians while the Heroes Guild were a group called The Seekers(Loyal followers of the Keeper).
Aerius later met a man named Cassius who finally revealed to him that he was the Keeper and together they took over entire guilds, absorbing them into the Heroes Guild, now called Elium. Aerius, angry at Beirut and Moira, confronted them to discover Beirut is a reincarnation of a Gillidian, along with Moira. When Aerius and the forces of the Compost clash, Aerius prevails in winning the fight but can't bring himself to kill his brother or Moira. Cassius did not hesitate, however, and killed her. Beirut escaped and information that Moira was protecting the relics was discovered.
Aerius eventually learned that the only way to obtain the relics now was to kill Beirut who had taken over the Compost and took up role as the Defender of the relics. In fits of rage, Aerius kills his older brother and obtains the his power. Being struck with grief he decides to make his final act a noble one and splits the power of the Garbenger up into thirty pieces.

This is where you come in. That happened before you were born and now you have a small power of the Keeper. You may choose your powers but get them approved by me first. The world is run by guilds. If your character is not part of one, you will need to explain. Your characters will be offered to join others, as well so don't feel like you have to be loyal to the guild you star with unless you want to be. I will have more need to know information up later but this should suffice for character creation. Use the multiverse campaign skeleton but add a picture of your seal. A seal is a symbol of your power. All Keepers have one on their chests about the size of a typical cup coaster.
More things you need to know for your character:
You do not have to be good. Or evil. Your allignment does not matter.
Your drive has only one condition and that is that you want to change the world in some way. Or you want it to stay exactly the same. Either way, you want to fight for it. Your reasoning can be different. You may not truly want it but maybe your character still has a reason to fight for that. You MUST want to make some sort of impact on the world.
Your character does not have to be a combat character but keep in mind they WILL be in danger at some points and you, as the writer, should always expect anything to happen. Whether your character does or not is up to you.
List of guilds:
Compost: Believe in helping the world in any way they can through practical means. Lead by Lykos, Beirut's successor.
Elium: They want to help the world by any means necessary. They accept all kinds of members.
Shadows: Tied closely with Elium. A lot of the same members are in both guilds.
Old Gillidians: A guild that believes in hunting the keepers and destroying them. Not all members are truly reincarnated Gillidians but they still stand for the same principles.
There are tons of guilds all over the world but these four have some of the most influence whether it's seen or not. Feel free to make your own guild or to be part of one that you make up. You can be in multiple guilds as long as they aren't enemies(Old Gillidians and Elium, for example). Let me know.
The three cities you will visit(you will at least have knowledge of them):
Vantus- Eastern desert city. Lots of winding streets and more allies than veins in your body. Filled to the Brim with crime but also full of people who may truly want to help. Everyone is a wild card.
Callium- City that stands in the plains. The oldest city still standing in Bachanelle. Originally built as a fort for the army of the nearby ruins of Tressor. It became larger and more populated after the city was sacked and then fell to ruin. The Tressorites fled to this fort and it's grown since. Looks like a castle.
Freytu- The Blessed City. Founded by devout worshippers of the Garbenger. The Garbenger is a god by no means but to these people, they believe they owe their very lives to it. Not all citizens believe in it but they don't share that with anyone else. Stands on a tropical island and covered by trees.
